5 Stars. First off I’d like to than NetGallery for allowing me to read this book in exchanged for my honest review.
This was the first book for me by this author and the series. I really enjoyed it and I want to read the first one as well. I didn’t feel lost or confused while I read this one without having to of read the first one, which I liked. The characters were well developed, to where they seemed like they were your old friends that you came to town to hang out with. Although I wasn’t to surprise about the murder, I did enjoy the small town, with the little country store. The story was well developed as well, that it held my attention, and I was able to read it in one sitting on a perfect rainy day.
Robbie Jordon runs a little country store calls Pans ‘N Pancakes. She hosts a homecoming party for a local that has returned to the little town. One thing that wasn’t on the menu was the dead body that was found in her store the next morning. The suspect list contains many people that Robbie knows and wants to make sure that the right person is arrested, so to make sure she decides to investigate herself. The state detective, who dated Robbie’s boyfriend, objects to her getting involved, but nothing is going to stop Robbie from making sure that her friends aren’t charged with murder, and that the real culprit is caught.
